Name:
Rasmus Blaesbjerg don’t even try to pronounce in English. So the name r A z usual apply

Age:
25, been doing computer gfx for 10 years and stuff for the net in 4 years.

Location:
The office, Copenhagen, Denmark, Earth.

Mac or PC:
The one button ahead = PC

Site(s):
http://www.razworld.com – Where I share way to much personal stuff through the digi-soap
http://www.slrp.com – The creative electronic onslaught. Where raa.dk and I are battling via design and creativity against other involved factions.

The Boss:
ME? What can I say?... He is the most demanding I have ever had.

Design education:
None, zip, kein... I did have a 2 day course in 3dsmax once though:)

Hunk, spunk or flunk:
Is this a trick question? That’s not for me to decide.

Disgusting personal habits:
Too demanding in my expectation towards people – And oh… We’re is my nails?

Nice personal habits:
Open-minded towards anything... ANYTHING!

Hobbies off the net:
I try to do as much I can to gather experiences when I’m not working. I believe it is from these experiences, lots of creativity grows. Besides that I use to skate a lot, but that have mostly been replaced with an occasional snowboard trip and playing Starcraft with raa.dk

Favorite quote:
I came, I tried, I lost, I cheated, I won

What do you know about Australian web designers:
I recently had been writing a lot with girl called Victoria Waghorn of wammo.co.nz. She is from NZ, but works in Sydney. She is just so utterly amazing – I have a complete virtual crush on her. Besides that I think it most be real cool working from down under, with all that Asian resources for inspiration.

To answer the question = No... Can you tell me why?

How did you first learn of the internet:
From a magazine... REALLY! The first net ride I had was from an OS/2 machine!

What do you like/hate about the net:
I really like the social aspect and how easy you can get something started. That’s also what is down part. Really see many kids which are "social dead" in the real world, because they redraw to net every time they experience real-life problems.

What drew you to web design:
My original introduction to graphics came through 3D and DeLuxe paint drawings on the Amiga and I was totally in louuuuve with it. But I didn’t have a graphical education, so no one would hire me. I knew a lot about networks back then and when the Internet came around I could use my knowledge in networks to get into design.

What is your working style (Photoshop, etc):

I try to get away from my dear computer and find "real" stuff to use. Then I throw it all into the scanner. The rest happens in Photoshop. I SUPER-adore fonts and utilities, so I use both a lot.

Do you think that Flash is cool or overused:
Total, mega, super, gigantic overused. Flash is GREAT for making a first time visual impact, but if you really have content to present, it is just a pain in the but!

Do you prefer technologically advanced sites or sites with simple but good design:
To best site's it one that are able to combine the two.

Do you have any cool design tips:
Don’t ever underestimate the power of big color surfaces and a classic font. Besides that it is important to have a lot a stuff to work with. Never just sit and stare empty on the monitor and try to "think" something up. Scan things, Draw stuff, use fonts, use color, use filters, take pictures -> Build up, break it down, build up, break it down, build up, break it down. Try to progress in every step, be "killing your darlings". Eventual something nice will appear and you can work in that direction.

Favourite sites:
My friends Toke and Mschmidt have done a real cool job in K10K. All the design digizine (Sabre, Born, Uploading, n-Fabrik, Shift) has been producing delish content lately (so you better start cooking Andrew:) Like a lot of txt stuff as well, such as justin.org and battle.net

Favourite designers: (Web or otherwise)
Carlos Segura has my heart. When I saw his presentation, I terminated pay-slave work a month after and started on my own. Before I meet Carlos I had been much into the David Carson/Ray gun trash it all kinda thing.

Besides the "Classic" ones, I need to be in tough competition from others, in order to do great stuff. That aspect truly come from raa.dk + Toke Nygaard + Mschmidt + rYTz = thanks guys!

Design styles you hate:
95% percent of the net, done by people or clients unwilling to try anything just a little daring. COME ON YOU GUYS!

Do you think web designers will become the design elite:
You already see stuff in the print world and on the TV directly snatched from the net. The trend is evolving so quickly on the net, that other media’s have problems coming up with something original.

Do you see yourself as an influential web designer:
Hmmm – maybe in Denmark, but not on the international scene. So radical measures are coming up... More important is to teach people the value of great design, so it becomes more for a priced good.

How would you like to be remembered:
I’d like to do something that would change the course of mankind, but more realistic I’d like to be remembered for integrity not controlled by financial interests. And ohh - and I hope it doesn’t rain when I die.

Any final comments?
Will this get me girls?

Thanks RAZ!
